Tennis Elbow

Also called “lateral epicondylitis,” this painful condition may come out of nowhere or may begin after a simple bump or sprain of the elbow. It causes severe pain on the outside of the elbow, worse with activities that require gripping and lifting, especially with the elbow in a straightened position.

Standard treatments for tennis elbow include watchful waiting, icing, stretching and physical therapy, bracing, and anti-inflammatory medications.

Dr. Nelson offers advanced treatments for tennis elbow, including state of the art platelet-rich-plasma injections (“PRP”) and mini-open surgical procedures to clean-out and re-attach the painful tendon fibers.
